About the activity
As well as a double sized sports hall for basketball and badminton and a fully equipped gymnasium the College has its own dedicated rock climbing wall.
Students learn about a variety of safety aspects including awareness of rules and hazards, how to put on a harness and helmet correctly, safe belaying and lowering using a suitable belay device and how to hold a fall in a bottom rope situation.
Rock Climbing is an exhilarating sport and is aimed at students of all ages. It is taught by George Phillips a fully qualified instructor who works with students at the College on a weekly basis.
This a unique opportunity for students on the Summer School course to learn the essentials of Rock Climbing in a safe and fun environment. Groups consist of a maximum of six students at any one time.
