Academic Subject Based Programme
The subject based programme will be age appropriate and explores British history and music as well as touching on more traditional subjects such as the Sciences and Humanities. This is a new course and one which we hope will flourish in years to come.
Teachers are all subject specialists and we have designed a bespoke course to appeal to international students.
Music lessons explore the work of the Beatles, Rolling Stones as well as more contemporary music. Science lessons take place in newly refurbished labs and give students an opportunity to do practical work. Well being lessons are becoming more widely taught in some top British boarding schools. The mindfulness course will include lessons to help us enjoy life more and understand ourselves better.
The hope is that students from around the world will leave the Summer school having had a positive British experience and an understanding of the history and culture of our nation.
If they are stretched and challenged and leave having had fun then they will have had a taste of what it is to be like to be a student at a top independent boarding school in the UK.
English Language Programme
During the 3 week course students will receive 42hrs of English lessons. These are taught by highly qualified and experienced EfL teachers. The aim is not only for students to improve their English speaking, writing and listening but also to get a better understanding of British culture and history. Each class will consist of about 10 students in order to be able to receive the individual attention they deserve.
All classrooms are modern and fully equipped with interactive whiteboards and digital projectors. There is a dedicated ICT room and specialist language classroom within the building as well.
