About the activity
Wellington College is set in nearly 400 acres of woods and forest. It contains a purpose built low ropes course used by many of the College’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) as part of their outward bounds activities.
It is run by Major Gerry Long who is the Colleges senior Commanding Officer.
Full instructions are given and safety equipment is provided. The course is designed to deal with students of all abilities and those who are more athletic are encouraged to push themselves to the limit. Teamwork, resilience and courage are all required to complete the gruelling course.
The College has always had strong military connections and was originally setup as a school for the ‘sons of heroes’. Major Long is an experienced member of staff at the College and is very used to dealing with students of all shapes and sizes. He was a popular addition to this years Summer School Course.
